It is the second largest aggressive creature of Subnautica and the third largest creature in the game. If the player enters the Crater Edge, a single adult Ghost Leviathan spawns in. If the player stays in the area for another thirty seconds, a third and final Ghost Leviathan spawns in. They will all pursue the player until the player returns to the playable area, upon which they will all retreat.
The Giant Cove Tree is the nesting ground of this leviathan species although they are not present around the treewith its massive glowing bulbs being their eggs the eggs hve a bit of blue and a bit of purple. Look at the Giant Cove Tree page for more info. The Ghost Leviathans' life cycle begins in the Lost River, as juveniles. As the leviathans mature and become too large for their home, they migrate to the open, surface world biomes such as the Grand Reef and Blood Kelp Zone, until eventually migrating to the Dead Zone, continuing to grow and roam freely in the open water.
Since the leviathans in the Crater's Edge are able to survive there, it can be assumed that Ghost Leviathans can feed off of microscopic organisms. It has a rectangular mouth with a glowing barbule lure beneath. Its long body tapers to a point.
The outer body is transparent, making the smaller, inner body visible. The inner body is long and thin, and covered in pulsating, bioluminescent orange stripes with many orange tipped protrusions ending with blinking bioluminescent orange glows.
Unlike the outer body, the inner body has a distinct, thin neck joining the head and body. As the leviathan moves through the water, it leaves trails in the water behind it. To attack a target, it will spiral up and charge. When charging, it will open up its mouth and make a loud, echoing screech. Adults are able to push the Cyclops and either drag it, or overturn it.
If the player is walking around the Cyclops when the Adult begins to push for example, if they are trying to put out fires causes by an attackand the Leviathan rolls the submarine over, the player can be killed instantly upon colliding with the walls or ceiling.
This creature is approaching the size limit for sustainable organic lifeforms, and has been designated leviathan class. Adults of the species have been encountered exclusively around the edges of the volcanic crater which supports life on this part of the planet, and react with extreme aggression on approach.
Hammerhead: Cartilaginous extensions of the creature's skull form a hammerhead which protects the ghost leviathan as it performs devastating ramming attacks. Jaws: While fully capable of tearing through the flesh of any creature in range, all evidence indicates that mature ghost leviathans feed on microscopic lifeforms in the waters around the edges of the inhabited zone.Home Games News Cosplay.
Two different paths of traveling through the Lost River and both Lava Zones. They will be shown in Creative and tell you where you must go. These will be shown in Creative so you know how to get there but not what you must do to get there Building vehicles and stuff like that.
Bort's "Lost River and Beyond" guide is a very good guide on what you need to travel. I will attempt to avoid as many spoilers as possible for new players but there will be a few necessary ones like the locations. Method Number 1 is a longer, but safer, method of traveling the lost river.
Your big concerns are Crabsquids, Warpers, and River Prowlers. Method Number 2 is shorter and you don't have to worry as much about Crabsquids and Warpers, but you will have to go through a Ghost Leviathan. Only brave or foolish people should attempt this. Head West from your lifepod until you reach the Grass Plateau, bordering the Dunes. Follow the Blood Kelp Trench and go as deep as you can. Alternatively you can follow it on the surface and once you reach this: Dive down and follow the wall until you reach a large passage leading to the Bone Fields.
If you take a passage and see this: You've taken a wrong turn so turn around and go right. When you see the giant skeleton. Follow the wall on the left side to avoid the Ghost Leviathan. Method Number 1: Entering the Inactive Lava Zone Now that you're in the bone field continue following the left wall until you reach this small skeleton.
Follow that left and down until you reach the Junction which looks like. From there you have 3 ways to go. Straight and up leads to the Ghost Forest which leads out of the Lost River. Right leads toward the Disease Research Facility, which is great for new players trying to understand the lore, but other than that serves no important purpose.
That leaves left towards the Ghost Tree.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

Eggs can be found resting on the seafloor, buried beneath detritus, or even wedged into cracks in the rock. Different species likely favor different biomes as their nesting grounds. Eggs discovered in the wild are in some form of natural stasis, likely awaiting ideal conditions in which to hatch, or the delivery of some vital enzyme which will kick start the process.
It is impossible to calculate the species of the egg from the exterior, however it may be possible to stimulate a hatching response if an egg is relocated to a suitable alien containment unit. A list of creature Eggs, taken from the official Subnautica Twitter feed.
